Retaining Wall Design & Construction in Danvers, MA
Danvers's drumlins and bedrock make retaining walls common in the north and center, where they turn slopes into usable yard.

Retaining walls in Danvers
What to know before you start.
Walls count as structures in the 50-foot no-build zone near wetlands. In the historic districts, stone walls visible from the street need review.
Where ledge is at the surface, it can become part of the wall's footing instead of an obstacle.
Local rules that can affect your retaining walls project.
No-disturb and no-build zones
The first 35 feet from a wetland is a no-disturb zone and the first 50 feet is a no-build zone. Only a small share of each zone on a lot can be altered (10% and 20%), and the Commission can't waive those limits.
