01What we do
Most drainage problems have a simple cause.
Water runs downhill and follows the path of least resistance. Usually it's a yard graded toward the house, downspouts dumping in the wrong place, or heavy clay that won't let rain soak in. Fix the cause and the soggy spot goes away.
Underground infiltration
Chamber systems buried in stone that collect runoff and let it soak back into the ground.
Trench & French drains
Stone-filled trenches with perforated pipe that pull water out of wet areas.
Downspout & roof drains
Piping roof water away from the foundation instead of letting it pool.
Regrading
Reshaping the yard so water runs away from the house and off the lawn.
02New construction
Building or adding on? You may need a stormwater system.
Stormwater that can't soak in runs off roofs and driveways, carrying erosion and flooding with it. That's why many towns require new construction and larger additions to manage it on site. We install the infiltration systems those plans call for, and do the grading and landscaping around them.

Why is my yard always wet?
The usual suspects are a yard that slopes toward the house or a low spot, downspouts emptying onto the lawn, or clay soil that doesn't drain. We walk the property after rain if we can, to see where the water actually goes.
What is a French drain?
A trench filled with stone and a perforated pipe. Water seeps into the stone, runs along the pipe and is carried away to a better spot or into the ground.
Does my new house need stormwater management?
Many towns require it for new construction and larger additions. It's usually in your permit conditions or your engineer's site plan. We install what the plan calls for.
Can drainage go in under a patio or lawn?
Yes. Most systems are buried, then we build the patio, walkway or lawn over the top.
