01What we do
From bare dirt to a lawn you can use.
Patchy, bumpy or waterlogged lawns usually come back to the same few things: bad grading, thin soil or poor drainage. We fix what's underneath, then seed.
Regrading
Reshaping the yard so it's smooth and pitched away from the house.
Loam & seed
Screened loam spread and raked out, then seeded for sun or shade.
New lawns
Complete new lawns for new construction or after a big project.
Putting greens
Artificial putting greens with no mowing or watering.
02Under the grass
Grade and soil first. Then seed.
Seed thrown on hard, compacted fill won't last a summer. We get the grade right, bring in enough loam, and seed at the right time of year.

- A real layer of screened topsoil, not a dusting over rocks and clay.

Materials, layout and price in plain terms, with options if you want to phase the work.

We build it and clean up
Excavation to final sweep. We haul debris away and leave the lawn around it seeded.

Seed or sod?
Seed costs less and grows a lawn suited to your yard, but takes a season to fill in. Sod is instant but costs more and needs careful watering to root. We'll recommend one based on timing and budget.
When is the best time to seed?
Late summer into early fall is best in New England: warm soil, cool nights, fewer weeds. Spring works too, with more watering and weeds to manage.
Why does water pool in my yard?
Usually the grade. Low spots and yards sloped toward the house hold water. Regrading fixes most of it, and bigger problems may need a drain. Drainage →
