Bad pruning is easy to spot: shrubs sheared into lollipops, or flowering shrubs cut right before they bloom. We prune for the plant's natural shape and its bloom schedule.

02Timing matters
Cut at the wrong time and you cut off the flowers.
Many flowering shrubs set next year's buds soon after they bloom. Prune them in fall and you lose the flowers. We schedule each plant for the right time of year.

How often should hedges be trimmed?
Most hedges look best trimmed once or twice during the growing season, depending on how fast they grow and how formal you want them.
Can you save an overgrown shrub?
Often, yes. Many shrubs respond well to renewal pruning over a season or two. Some are better replaced, and we'll tell you honestly.
Do you haul away the clippings?
Yes. We clean up and take everything with us.
