Pavers in Danvers
What to know before you start.
In the Salem Village and Putnam historic districts, at-grade walks and terraces are exempt from review, but driveways are not. A paver driveway there needs historic district approval.
Silty, clay-heavy soils on the edges of town can shift. We build a deeper, compacted base where the ground calls for it.
Local rules that can affect your pavers project.
No-disturb and no-build zones
The first 35 feet from a wetland is a no-disturb zone and the first 50 feet is a no-build zone. Only a small share of each zone on a lot can be altered (10% and 20%), and the Commission can't waive those limits.
